Welcome & Thank You for your interest in SOS

SOS Cat Rescue AZ, Inc. is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based, no kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue group based out of Tucson, AZ dedicated to saving orphan kittens and senior cats from shelters across Arizona and giving them a second chance for a “happily ever after” life by matching adoptable kitties to the right homes.  All cats are solely placed in foster homes where they will be taken care of according to their individual needs such as bottle feeding for orphans, socialization for kittens while growing up, medical attention to the sick, and hospice care for seniors.

Since all our cats live in foster homes, we get to know them, their behavior, and their needs very well so we can help you find the cat that is a match for you.

SOS stands for Saving Orphans and Seniors and is founded by experienced Tucson based rescuers who focus on special-need-cats and their well-being.  Our team consists of excellent foster families, specialized bottle-feeders with years of experience, as well as strong individuals with a loving heart for senior cats, their special needs, and the knowledge that most of our seniors are with us because of their deteriorating health. This means we give senior cats a loving hospice forever home where they can pass over in a home situation, loved and cared for.

Our goals are to rescue orphaned kittens and senior cats in need, provide them with the care they need, and find them wonderful homes and a place to live out their remaining days. We are also working hard at screening the potential families and asking the right questions to ensure every single one of our rescued kitties finds their happily ever after home.

Throughout the year, we are raising funds to pay for all medical care we provide to our foster cats. We will let you know about our fundraising event right here and hope you are willing to support our cause.

This website has been designed with the intent of providing a service to the animals in need as well as giving you the chance to check us out.

We invite you to take a stroll through our categories and stay for a while. We enjoy having you here.

Our adoption process

Since we don’t have a shelter facility, our process works a bit differently than other rescues. Once you have chosen a cat or kitten you would like to meet, you fill out and submit an adoption application. As soon as we have reviewed it, we will contact you. At that point, we schedule a time for you to meet the cat you are interested in, and then we will do a home visit. If the visit goes well, the adoption gets finalized and you have a new furry family member. It’s that simple.

For any other questions you may have for us, please email us at info@SOScatrescueAZ.org or visit us on Facebook via https://facebook.com/SOS.CatRescueAZ

We retain the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason.

  1. I think what you do is absolutely wonderful. All animals need a chance. That is what brings me to you. I have an adult female cat with 5 kittens born Feb 20 of this year. The mom is people friendly but 3 older kittens of her aren’t. I live in coyote country and fear for all these cats. I believe they are all born outside. I would like someone to take the mom and her new babies so I can try to care for and take care theother three. Mom keeps chasing them away from the only place they know as home. Is there anyone that can help me? Best contact for me is by email.

  4. I think your organization , SOS cat rescue AZ has many kind and very helpful people.
What a breath of fresh air!
I called and asked for some help with some kittens I’m bottle feeding because the mother doesn’t have any milk and you immediately responded to help me with no strings attached advice excellent advice feeding supplies and when one of the kittens got very very ill a specially trained bottle feeding volunteer even came and took the kitten to her house to care for it to help try to nurse it to health
It appears gravely ill, prognosis very grim but I certainly appreciate that she can certainly do a lot more than my skills set.
I’m an elderly man at this point and it is been totally exhausting feeding every few hours 24/7
Back in ancient history my wife and I had children it was fairly easy because she breastfed them.!
A bassinet handy nearby the bed was all that was needed.
Bottle feeding 5 kittens is nowhere near as simple as you might imagine.
Other amazing thing is unlike many cat shelters who they just want to take your cats and you’re expected to bugger off these people are amazing and will work with you and only give the level of assistance you need or want .
And I must say I appreciate that they even treat a man with fairness dignity and respect not the bitterness condescension hostility and arrogance of many other cat shelters.
Many of whom in my experience are dripping with Missapplied undeserved completely inappropriate mysandrist hatred of male genders.
And Reaching the highest logrhythmic levels of estrogen hormones of hatred toward men
I’m not your ex husband and I don’t care if you’re a gay lesbian stereotypical crazy cat lady.
It used to be a useful survival skill out here in the west to know when you’re surrounded by hostiles!
they’ll return the cats to you when they don’t need special care and you can continue raising them until they’re ready to adopt out and then when they’re adopting them you give the cat to the future owner to go to its forever home. Yourself
How refreshing and even basic human decency to not be such obnoxious overbearing control freaks as many cat shelters are.
You know who you v are .
those ones that demand you hand your cat and kittens over like you’ve just been investigated by child protective services and found guilty of cat abuse !
What insufferable bores and Boorish people they are!

Completely different story with SOS cat rescue AZ
this is a model that should be followed by many other places.
It certainly a lot more logical than uprooting the cat from the only home it’s ever known and then a series of transfers which certainly could and would confuse and stress out and upset the poor animal because as we know cats are very sensitive.
And they cast the owner to the curb like common trash!
If you other cat rescue organizations may have recognized yourself here in what I’m saying
    do different
