My name is April and I’m a rescue cat. I was living on “The Streets of Tucson” for a while before someone scooped me up and dropped me off at the shelter from where my loving foster mom rescued me unknowing that I was pregnant. All my kittens are grown now and already found their forever homes, I would like to be next.
But there is a twist, of course, otherwise, why would a tortie as gorgeous as I am still be available for a forever home. The thing is, I’m extremely shy and need a long time before I open up to people. No one would mention my name when people are looking for a lap cat because this is not me.
I’m very good with other cats and dogs and integrated myself very well into the existing group at my foster mom’s house but I still lack the trust when it comes to humans. But here comes the good thing, I am starting to come out of my shell and allow human interaction. Please know that I’m working really hard on my social skills including integrating me in what is going on in my foster mom’s house mostly from an observer standpoint.
A relaxed, quiet environment without children is what I’m looking for and people who understand that I need a bit more time to get used to people and new surroundings. But when I do, THEN I turn into a total love bug but I do not like to be held.
If you are interested in welcoming me into your home and you do not mind waiting a while for me to trust you, please either email firstname.lastname@example.org, call (520) 445-3889, or submit an adoption application so that a meet-n-greet can be arranged. Thank you, yours April.
