DSH – black Finn11
Male – neutered
FeLV/FIV test – negative
DOB: Approx. Dec 1st, 2014

Hi all.

I never had the chance for a proper introduction. I’m Finnegan, and I was rescued as a tiny kitten at-risk of euthanasia due to ringworm – a treatable skin fungus. I recovered from that but was just recently diagnosed with stomatitis. Stomatitis is a gum disease (caused by the calici virus) that -if not treated- can be deadly.

Finn10It’s also very painful and in most cases a full mouth extraction is necessary. So, I went into surgery in August, had to stay overnight to receive IV, pain meds, and fluids.

Luckily, a full mouth extraction was not necessary that means -for now- I still have quiet a few teeth and can enjoy my food to the fullest. My foster mom tells everyone that I’m a trooper because the surgery went very well and I’m already eating, grooming, and playing again. The bald spots in the photo are the shaved parts for the surgery, nothing to worry about; my fur will grow back.

Finn6If you’d like to make a small donation into my medical fund at PetdoctorX please feel free to call them (520) 829-5166. Thank you very much. I’ll keep you posted on how I’m doing.~Finn
